Welcome on our journey to the incredibly wonderful City of Angels – Welcome to Los Angeles 🙂 🙂 🙂
Lisa has been in the US for several times since she was a young girl. After her semester abroad in 2014 this was the first time she was able to visit the US. So, my love was very excited about our first time abroad.
Note: I was excited, too. It was the first time that I entered the North American Continent. I don’t know why I didn’t visit the US before. I have often thought about a year abroad during high school. But I am not sure, why I did not go for it… So what, some years later I was going to visit the USA 🙂 On the picture below you can see our aircraft from British Airways.
After around thirteen hours we arrived in Los Angeles International Airport, LAX. The flight was very comfortable and we could sleep some hours.
We picked up our car near by the airport and directly drove home. On the street we realized that we were not familiar with the driving rules. But we arrived at the hotel safely 🙂
One thing I really appreciate is good entertainment in TV. In Germany public television and even the private channels are crap. After arriving at the hotel I nearly watched six hours football. Moreover many good movies were offered for free. This is entertainment and a range of channels I would definitely pay for. Sorry, but this had to be said 🙂
The next morning we started our journey to see the probably most famous district in L.A., Hollywood.
On the trail of Star Wars, in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre.
After visiting the Walk of Fame we strengthened our self at the Hollywood & Highland for the next event…
… the Griffith Observatory 🙂
We visited the museum and got everything to know about the famous citizen of Los Angeles. But especially the view of L.A. is wide and wonderful.
We were excited for our new home for the week. This lovely place we booked with airbnb. It was a small cabin in the garden of a young couple.
The bed was very comfortable. A small, but clean bathroom and a functional kitchen made this place good to stay.
First of all, Venice is a very special place in Los Angeles. Some people might love this place, but it is not for everyone. It is very alternative and looks kind of trashy, …
… but it has charm. I can not describe why, but I have expected Venice to be more glamorous. During my visit I realized that Venice is not glamorous and it doesn’t want to be. It is an attraction, a place for skateboarding and a hot spot for surfer. It is wicked and a bit dirty, but that makes Venice so well worth seeing. Venice is down- to- earth. It is a kind of American Amsterdam, it is freaky ( I haven’t seen so much green Doctors before 🙂 ). If you want to see the alternative, exceptional side of Los Angeles, then you have to visit Venice.
The Water World Stunt Show is a really enjoyable event that you have to visit. Fortunately, we didn’t take place in the first row. As you can imagine, they got wet 🙂
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has been opened in 2016. In the picture you can see the rebuilt Hogsmeade from the movie.
The highlight of this new theme park is Hogwarts. The castle looks great! Hogwarts even made me feel like back in time when Harry Potter was brought out 🙂
Draco Malfoy’s Owl at the Actors Animal- Attraction
To all Desperate Housewife fans:
The Wisteria Lane:
Santa Monica is just great to see. The city in the western part of LA is a popular place for tourists and even locals to go out. A very famous motive is the Santa Monica Pier and its big wheel.
Ont the streets many artists show their skills.
Beach of Santa Monica
Santa Barbara is a city located 100 miles from Los Angeles. It is a place where you can take a break and relax.
We left LA early in the morning to have breakfast at this lovely city.
On our “short” 😉 shopping tour we made a stop at this marvelous Halloween store. There we bought a few articles for our Halloween Party at home.
We visited the University of California Santa Barbara because of her famous graduate, Lisa 🙂 😉
After that culture tour around the campus I got the chance to test this delicious Habit Burger.
Personally, Beverly Hills is the most surreal and interesting neighborhood I have ever seen. Almost every house looks like a small castle or an architectural wonder. I don’t know if I want to live there for real, but it is great to see all this different types of houses side by side. Very worth seeing 🙂
Our last day- The Hollywood Sign
On our last day, some hours before we had to go to the airport, we decided to go on the Hills to see the Hollywood Sign. As you can see in the first picture of this article, we have done that. Unfortunately we had already checked out from our hotel and transpired during the midday sun. If you want to take the way up to the sign, do it in the morning or wait until afternoon… I’m glad that we didn’t have a direct seatmate on our flight to Florida 😉
This journey has definitely exceeded my expactations! I have never seen so many interesting things, that I really love like in Los Angeles. LA feels like a big community with peolple, who are happy about living in this big and powerful city 🙂
